A Fresh Take On The CUV With The Soul Of A Sports Car
All-New 2013 Mazda CX-5 Named Best Small Utility Vehicle by MotorWeek
In a segment of vehicles that is already plump with choices, most people might feel there's no need for an other CUV but Mazda's take is somewhat different. Mazda has set themselves apart by offering a uniquely spirited take on versatility and technology. The newest vehicle in Mazda's line-up is no exception; It's loaded with ... ZOOM ZOOM.
Meet the MAZDA CX-5 (formally the Minagiconcept), the first Mazda to feature both the new Koda corporate design language and their new SKYACTIV technologies.
Like the Shinari sedan concept which draws it's inspiration from the Koda and Rapide design philosophy, it's lines are focused and the result is a sharp, crisp, athletic looking "truckette."
SKYACTIV technologies have also produced industry buzz. Mazda has developed the Sky Active engines to be more powerful and efficient, the transmissions are better at interpreting the driver's intentions, a technology many other auto makers are mimicking today, while being much more efficient, and the body structure and chassis are lighter yet stronger and more rigid.
Many of Mazda's current production models have employed these engineering philosophies, like the beloved Mx-5 Miata, MAZDA2 and MAZDA3, reducing weight while increasing structural rigidity.
In a segment of ho-hum, Mazda has given us an exciting glimpse at the next generation of Cross-over which will be in Our Showroom as soon as FEBRUARY 2012.
